Eddie Burke

Places Reimagined: Where Graphic Design and Photography Meet.

Born and raised in County Meath, Ireland, Eddie Burke studied Communications in Creative Media at the Dundalk Institute of Technology. He embarked on the adventure of a lifetime when he decided to move to Vancouver on a two-year work visa in February 2020… three weeks before the pandemic.

He would eventually find work as a graphic designer, meet his wife and apply for his Permanent Residency. Adopting Canada as his second home was the inspiration behind his first art series, Abhaile (Home). Combining beloved landmarks from both Ireland and Vancouver, Eddie used colour theory, his eye for detail and various design techniques to create new and whimsical places in the form of art. He continues to use his signature style to reimagine other key locations throughout the world. Combining his love of both graphic design and photography is at the heart of his artwork.

Eddie currently lives in Port Moody, BC with his wife, Jamie, and their cat, Noodle. He enjoys French New Wave cinema, eating wood fired pizza and exploring the city with his camera in tow.
