Preserve is a much a self portrait as it is a still life. It represents what we all had and what most of us lose. The magic of imagination, play, youthful spirit and joy. As kids we want to be adults, and as adults we forget how to be kids. This is why it’s so important to keep...to Preserve. The antique jar has been around a long time and is perfectly imperfect. I keep the lid on so I can always access the magic that I know is so fragile. This fragility is emphasized by being precariously placed on the edge of the shelf. It’s vital to know how easy it is to lose.
