Tumbling Trunks Original Painting

"Tumbling Trunks" African Elephant Mother and Offspring

by Artist Carolynn Ashley

This expressive wildlife artwork captures a tender and playful moment between two African elephants, as a young calf tumbles beneath the protective presence of a larger elephant. Their intertwined trunks, oversized ears and overlapping forms create a wonderful sense of movement, affection and family connection.

At once playful and intimate, Tumbling Trunks celebrates the strong emotional bonds, nurturing behaviour and gentle nature associated with elephants. The large square format gives the work considerable presence while its sophisticated neutral palette makes it particularly suited to contemporary, modern and nature-inspired interiors.

An engaging statement piece for wildlife art collectors, elephant lovers and collectors of contemporary Canadian art, Tumbling Trunks brings warmth, personality and a sense of connection to a room.
